The North Face was founded in California in 1966 by Douglas Tompkins and Dick Klopp. What started as the equipment of a mountaineering store, soon became a brand of specialized equipment. From its beginnings, it gained a lot of fame for its innovation in materials and the expeditions it organized to Mount Everest.
